Because I am *nothing*, if not courteous.

Dear Spambots*,

I wouldn't know what tramadol, diet(?!) phentermine or carisoprodol were if they jumped up collectively and bit me. If they did, I would probably just wonder, "What are these things that have jumped up out of nowhere and why are they biting me?".

Yes, I'm slow that way.

But one thing I do know, is that I have never, at any point in my life, ever worried about my, err...staying power.

So you can stop offering me all the goddamn Viagra.

Sincerely,

The Blogger Who Has Never Had to Worry About ED.

*If there's anybody out there who knows how to block/stop/destroy the damn things, help me! Please?

hi there.. for email spam, there isnt much you can do, unfortunately, unless you run your own mail server (not a viable solution in most cases, I know); or you could use gmail - has the best spam protection I've ever seen.

To protect the comment space on your blog (if that is what you meant), you can turn on word verification.

No no don't do the word verification thing!! That software evilly produces subliminal messages!

Sameer: Hi! I was actually referring to the spambots that have invaded my blog, but thank you anyway. And yes, gmail's spam protection works very well.

Anish: Very clever, smartypants! :P

Sougata: Where on earth have you been (and uh...you don't really have to answer that)?? I was *this* close to sending you frantic mail and forever going down in your address book as Psycho Internet Person!

And umm...thank you. As much as I dislike it, I guess word-verification it'll have to be.

UBN: I will? *scratches head* I'll take your word for it UBN, but I can't actually imagine what I would do with it (the viagra i.e.). Seeing as I'm not really the target market. (Oh to hell with subtlety!) Basically, dude, I'm female. :D

Revealed: You know, I think subliminal evil messages I can deal with. It's better than the 'Free Teen Sex Videos!' and those darn medications they insist on advertising on my poor, lead-such-a-sheltered-life blog, no?

I know it's a bit of a pain, but a blogger's gotta do what a blogger's gotta do. *sigh*

*sends empathetic vibes to c.s and simultaneously sends cruelly evil vibes to the sort of earth scum who would force unsuspecting bloggers to inflict word verification on their even more unsuspecting readers*

I notice you haven't done it yet :D

Revealed:Thank you for the much-needed vibes...*sniff*!

Re: The evil that is word verification

We are severely technology-challenged and have to first figure out how to get the thing up and running.

Bwuhahahahaha!

(earnestly) That's how spam-bots laugh, so if you hear a laugh like that, RUN.

And carry your blog.

P.S. Did I just leave your First-Ever Word-Verified Comment? Did I? DID I?
